Difficult points:  To state more causes of traffic accidents  To know how to design an attractive and meaningful slogan  Teaching Aids  Multimedia, Power point  Part Two The Teaching Methods  1. Communicative teaching method 2. Audio-visual teaching method 3. Task-based” teaching method  Part Three Teaching Procedures Step 1 Lead-in  1. I will begin my class with a riddle:  It has a long leg, and three eyes. It only opens one eye every time. Its eyes have different colors. What is it?  2. A quiz to check their prior knowledge about traffic accidents and traffic rules.    Step 2 Analyzing the reading part 1) Pre-reading  1. Watch a PSD about drunk driving and complete a gap-filling task 2. Brainstorm causes about traffic accidents     2  2) Fast reading  Ss should go through the text as quickly as possible, and try to answer the following questions.  ① what is the purpose of the notice? ② What does the notice mainly focus on? ③ Who should be responsible for traffic accidents?  3) Detailed reading  Listen to the tape and read after it. And then answer the following questions   What are the major causes of road accidents related to drivers?   To prevent road accidents, what should cyclists and pedestrians do?  4) Consolidation : Free talk  As a student, what should you do to prevent traffic accidents in your daily life?  Enable students to express their own ideas about preventing traffic accidents as a student to consolidate their understanding of the text.  Step 3 Group work  Divide students into groups of 6 Ss to design slogans to warn people of the potential dangers  1. Preparing: show the standards of a good slogan, and give a sample 2. Producing: Ss work in groups and T will give proper help  3. Presenting: The team leader present their designing and explain their intention  Step 4 Summary & Homework  Make a brief summary about their performance and assign HW  Complete a composition about preventing traffic accidents as a student.
